In a bold and compassionate move to promote health, unity, and inclusivity, the Imo Hope for Good Governance Foundation has launched a Free Exercise Week for widows and less privileged women across Imo State.
This week long event is more than just fitness,it’s a statement of care, empowerment, and commitment to uplifting the often-overlooked members of society. As part of its core mission to support social welfare, gender equality, and inclusive development, the Foundation is using this initiative to foster physical well-being, mental wellness, and community solidarity.
*A Step Toward Health and Hope*
Starting from 27th of July 2025, various centers across the state will host professionally led exercise sessions tailored to accommodate women of all ages and fitness levels. From gentle aerobics and stretching to dance fitness and wellness talks, each day brings opportunities for healing, bonding, and self care.
The program doesn’t stop at physical health. Through interactive sessions on nutrition, stress management, and self esteem building, the Foundation aims to help participants reclaim strength both physically and emotionally.
*Why This Matters*
Many widows and less privileged women in Imo State face daily struggles ranging from health challenges to economic hardship and social exclusion. Without access to affordable wellness programs, their health often suffers in silence.
The Imo Hope for Good Governance Foundation, known for its track record in advocacy and humanitarian outreach, recognizes the urgent need for inclusive healthcare and mental wellness platforms. By removing financial and social barriers, this initiative becomes a safe, empowering space for women to thrive.
*Building Community, One Step at a Time*
Beyond the fitness sessions, this program is also designed to:
-Encourage social interaction and reduce loneliness among widows.
-Educate on healthy lifestyle practices in ways that are simple and sustainable.
-Create awareness around the Foundation’s larger mission of good governance, gender equality, and people first policy advocacy.
*Join the Movement*
We believe true governance includes taking care of the most vulnerable. That’s what this exercise week represents a government that listens, a community that supports, and a Foundation that acts.
